Introducing...

Michael Endres, Piano

Incredibly, one of the world's foremost Schubert interpreters has moved to New Zealand:

"...Curzon, Richter, Pollini, Brendel, Perahia, and Kissin, among others..."

... begins Charles Timbrell in Fanfare Magazine in January this year. Then he continues:

"-- and Endres' belongs to that elite group."

The New York Times called his performances "relevatory", and the Boston Globe said "One of the most interesting pianists recording today…"

The Globe went on to say,

"the playing ... was like a shaft of light breaking through the mist." ... "Endres has made an admirable series of records [including] the finest recent account of the complete Schubert sonatas -- but the CDs don't begin to do him justice. They are poised, thoughtful, and expressive, but there is no hint of the wild-man risk-taking that marked his Newport [Rhode Island, USA] recital. Endres took big chances, communicated how thrilling every dimension of the music was to him, and succeeded triumphantly against the odds.... in playing that was ... imaginative, exciting, and expressive."

In addition to Schubert, his concerto repertoire includes everything from Bach, Beethoven and Brahms to Grieg, Liszt, Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky, not to mention all the important Mozart concerti. Click the link to view his concerto repertoire list.

Michael will again be touring New Zealand in 2014 with an exciting programme crafted from his critically acclaimed Geroge Gershwin album. Consult this link for continually updated details: "Endres 2014 Tour"
